The mission of Beyond Batten Disease Foundation (BBDF) is to eradicate Batten Disease, a rare and fatal neurodegenerative disease that affects children.  The Foundation’s efforts are focused on raising awareness and funds for research to find a cure.  The Will Herndon Fund at Beyond Batten Disease Foundation focuses on fundraising in The Woodlands, Texas.

Job Summary: The position of Administrative Assistant of The Will Herndon Fund (WHF) at BBDF offers an excellent opportunity for someone interested in furthering his or her skills and experience in fundraising by providing support to the Director of the WHF. The Administrative Assistant will help build maintain donor databases, and support all fundraising initiatives.  The Assistant’s time will be dedicated to general administrative duties.  The position is based in The Woodlands, Texas.  Limited travel will be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring and updating the donor database
  • Creating reports from the donor database
  • Executing gift processing and donor acknowledgements
  • Website maintenance
  • Creating and posting social media content
  • Assisting with special event planning and execution
  • Acting as staff liaison for some third party fundraisers
  • Assisting with general administrative duties
  • Managing special projects as assigned
  • Performing related work as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two to four years of work experience in a related field
  • Outstanding organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to work independently with minimal instruction
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Donor Perfect, WordPress and Constant Contact a plus
  • The ability to responsibly manage confidential and/or sensitive information
